Piggybacking on previous post "Surrendering Everything to God"

A devotional from Dr. Tony Evans came to my inbox on Wednesday, August 28th (see below) and I thought it was a great piggyback to the blog that I posted the day before called "Surrendering Everything to God."  Surrendering Everything to God Blog Post

This devotional (below, titled "A Woman Who Fears The Lord") also reminded me of the desire that I've had, for a few months, to read the book "Kingdom Woman" by Tony Evan's daughter, Chrystal Evans Hurst.

A kingdom woman gives the devil as much reason to fear as a kingdom man. She lives confidently in the knowledge that Christ died and rose for her so that she can experience the significance of the destiny to which she has been called.

In Kingdom Woman, Tony Evans and his daughter, Chrystal Evans Hurst, remind women of their calling from God to be free, delivered, healed, and to have hope. The authors bring insight that encourages women to correct distorted perceptions and understand who they really are in Christ—never settling for less when connected with the One who gives them hope. All believers are covered by God’s covenant with Abraham. Evans and Hurst want women to know these rights and confidently claim and live by them. The new covenant offers more than a life of mediocrity. A kingdom woman is called and empowered to live a life of victory through Christ!

Another godly woman who has been such an encouragement to me, and a wonderful example, is Pastor's wife and mother of 5, Audrey Broggi.  Audrey Broggi's Mothering From The Heart Blog

Here's Dr. Tony Evan's Devotional:

A Woman Who
Fears the Lord
A woman who fears the Lord will receive the praise that is due her. Her works and the products of her hands will give her the recognition and validation that is hers alone. When a woman understands who she is and how God made her – when she pursues her destiny in light of how God created her to function – what she does will produce remarkable results. This is because it will be in line with God’s will. What too many women frequently do is base their decisions on trying to please others, or trying to earn acceptance, appreciation, or a sense of worth from their decisions, looks or actions. Yet God never said that you would receive praise for trying to please others. He said that a woman who fears Him would receive the praise that is due her.
The basis of how a kingdom woman functions stems out of her fear of God. How she prioritizes her home and family, organizes her life, makes decisions, chooses investments, and develops her skills all arise from her efforts to promote the good of those around her and advance God’s kingdom. If it is rooted in anything else, it will lead to weariness and busyness rather than fruitfulness and abundance.
The simplest and most straightforward way that I know how to define what it means to fear God is to take God seriously. It means to place what God says and what God requires as the highest priority in your life. Fearing God does not mean that you are scared of him. Fear is better understood as reverence, or awe. It means to hold in highest esteem. A woman who fears the Lord is a kingdom woman who aligns her life underneath the comprehensive rule of God in every area of her life.

For His Kingdom,

Tony Evans

    1. Amen, sister! ;) I wish that we could all do a Bible study together with the book, or something like that...we could even do it over the distance, however I know that everyone has so much going on these days (so, maybe in the future).
